Zanie Lou (Friedrich) Quick, 83, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, Missouri.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2019 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO 64076, 816-633-5524. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Business Hwy 13, Higginsville, Missouri. Memories of Zanie Lou and condolences for her family may be left at

Zanie Lou was born on January 24, 1936 in rural Howard County, Missouri to D.G. and Lula Beatrice (Watts) Friedrich. She graduated from New Franklin High School in 1954 and then attended one year of Business college in Kansas City, MO. On January 22, 1956 Zanie Lou was united in marriage to Melvin E. Quick in New Franklin, MO. Throughout her years Zanie Lou’s main role was a being a mother first, but also worked as a waitress, secretary and a bookkeeper for Blue Beacon truck wash. She was a member of the PTA and Restoration Branch, Knob Noster, MO. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Zanie Lou enjoyed crocheting, sewing, singing, needle point and playing the piano.
Survivors include husband, Melvin E. Quick of the home; six children, Melvin Eugene Quick II and wife Rose of Nixa, MO, Theresa Marie Crosby of Springfield, MO, Lowell Dee Quick of Odessa, MO, Samuel Lee Quick and wife Barbara of Odessa, MO, Edward Gene Quick and wife Jackie of Stockton, MO, and Peter Louis Quick of Kansas City, MO; thirteen grandchildren, Deanna Windsor, Steven Quick, Adam Quick, Jake Crosby, Zach Crosby, Afton Michaud, Jordan Quick, Justin Quick, Austin Quick, Erika Quick, Chaz Quick, Kendra Whitt, and Samantha Quick; fifteen great-grandchildren, Alex Windsor, Derek Windsor, Madison Windsor, Ryder Quick, Tessa Quick, Kameron Quick, Jocelyn Quick, Sophie Michaud, Logan Michaud, Maycie Michaud, Nevaeh Quick, Aubree Quick, Hunter Quick, and Lincoln Quick; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Zanie Lou was preceded in death by a brother, Lowell Delius Friedrich.
