Winifred May (Baker) Amor, 96, of Costa Mesa, CA formerly of Lexington, MO and Kansas City, MO passed away Monday, January 2, 2011. Mrs. Amor was a long time Kansas City and Lexington resident, having moved to California eight years ago to be near her son and his family. Winifred May Baker was born June 25, 1915 in Lexington, MO, the daughter of William F. and Flora Ann Dunford Baker. She married Thomas O. Amor. Mr. & Mrs. Amor lived in Lexington before moving to Lincoln, NE for his job. She moved back to Lexington during WWII while Mr. Amor was serving in the Pacific. After his service commitment they returned to Nebraska and in 1953 moved back to Kansas City. Mrs. Amor was a homemaker. Mrs. Amor is survived by a son, Larry Amor and wife, Lila, of Costa Mesa, CA, a brother, John �Jack� Baker, Lees Summit, MO and two grandchildren, Ryanne Amor, Sherman, TX and Thomas Amor, Costa Mesa, CA. She also has fifteen nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Terry, four brothers: Alfred, Harry, Sam, and Bill and three sisters: Hilda Baker, Flora Dixon, and Betty Kubach. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2011 at Machpelah Cemetery in Lexington.
