Buford Allen Bayless

Buford A. Bayless, 74, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 05, 2013 at Oak Grove Nursing and Rehab in Oak Grove, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Odessa, MO with Reverend Terry Hodges officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Church. Burial will be in the Greenton Cemetery rural Odessa. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church Building fund. Condolences for the family may be left at www.ralphojones.com or on our Facebook page. Buford Allen Bayless was born on July 22, 1939 at Odessa, MO to Clyde Evert and Hattie Louise (Fizer) Bayless. He married Jean (Webster) Bayless on February 22, 1961 in Odessa, MO. Buford had worked for 30 years at the "GM" General Motors Company in the maintenance department. Buford was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Odessa, the UAW Local 93, National Plot hound Association, Wellington Lions Club. He had been a Deacon and Greeter at 1st Baptist Church. He enjoyed coon hunting, riding horses, fishing, hunting, camping and traveling. He also was a member of the Johnson County Coon Hunting Association. Survivors include Jean Bayless of the home, three children, Scott and Patty Bayless, Odessa, Steven Bayless, Wellington, Stuart Bayless, Wellington. There are 6 grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, four sisters and many nieces and nephews. Buford was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Cecil, Calvin.
