William “Bill†Donald Hubbard, 77, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 16, 2015 at the First Assembly of God, 707 S. 1st St., Odessa, MO, 64076 with Pastor Danny Davis officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial with Military Rites will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Bill was born on May 19, 1937 in Breckenridge, MO to August Ulsford and Ruth Irene (Eads) Hubbard. He graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1955. Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955 to 1965. He was in the infantry division and earned the rank of Sergeant. During his service in the Marine Corps. he served for one year in Okinawa. On December 2, 1960 Bill married Phyllis A. (Rumsey) Hubbard in Albuquerque, New Mexico. From 1966 to 1971 he worked for Lake City Ammunitions Plant in Independence. On August 1, 2001 after 25 years of service, Bill retired from the Missouri State Highway Patrol as a Commercial Vehicle Officer, working mainly at the Odessa Weigh Station. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Bills hobbies include woodworking, fishing, cooking and spending time outdoors.
In addition to his wife Phyllis, Bill is survived by three children, Eva Brannock of Odessa, MO, Cindy Jeske and husband Benny of Martinez, Georgia and Tim Hubbard and wife Tanya of Grain Valley, MO; ten grandchildren, Robert and James Brannock, Christopher and Matthew Jeske, Molly Hubbard, Olivia Kelley, Richard Fine-Brison and Manuel, Carlos, Diego Montez; four great grandchildren, Christian, Riley, Eli, and Annie Mae Brannock; a sister, Doris Herron and husband Roger of Topeka, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two brothers, George and August Hubbard, Jr. and a sister, Betty Bassett.
