Gary Ray Lair, 75, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday July 19, 2013 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO with Elder Chris Capps officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lexington Restoration Branch Church of Jesus Christ in Lexington, MO (1401 Franklin St., Lexington, MO, 64067). Burial with Military Rites will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Lexington Restoration Branch Church of Jesus Christ. www.ralphojones.com. Gary was born on November 1, 1937 in Commerce, Oklahoma to Raymond Woodrow and Leona Ruth (Hart) Lair. He was a 1955 graduate of Commerce High School. After high school Gary earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Oklahoma State University. On May 1, 1959 Gary was united in marriage to Glenda L. Kirk in Miami, OK, who survives of the home. On August 25, 1959 he received an Officers Commission in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on August 31, 1979. During his military service Gary graduated from Michigan State University earning his M.B.A. In addition to being retired from the Air Force he was also a C.P.A. Gary and Glenda are members of the Lexington Restoration Branch of Jesus Christ where he also served as an Elder. In addition to spending time with friends and family Gary liked woodworking and traveling. In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by two children, Barbara R. Capps and husband Chris of Alma, MO and Brian K. Lair and wife Pamala of Blue Springs, MO; seven grandchildren, Kirsten Jones and husband Joe, Jacob Lair and wife Melissa, Nicole Capps, Timothy Lair, Seth Capps and wife Allie, Hannah Lair and Andrew Lair; one great grandchild, Nora Lair; a brother Jerry L. Lair and wife Linda of Aurora, Colorado. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a son Kevin R. Lair.
