Wesley Alvin "Spivey" Cravens, 91, Lees Summit, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Graveside services for Spivey will be held on Tuesday, March 8th at 10:00 am at Lexington Memory Gardens Cemetery, Lexington, MO.
There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
Wesley Alvin "Spivey" Cravens was born on October 1, 1924 in Kansas City, MO. To Jesse and Opal Toler Cravens. Spivey had enlisted in the Army during World War II and then had enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War. On July 8, 1957 he married Bonell Brueggeman in Westerville, OH. Spivey had worked for the Department of Defense at the Lake City Army Ammunition plant from 1946 until his retirement in 1980.
Survivors include his wife, Bonell of the home. Also surviving is daughter, Susan McNeal and husband William, Lees Summit. There are three granddaughters, Sarah Hall and husband Jared, Shawnee, KS; Jennifer McNeal, Prairie Village, KS; and Katherine McNeal, Lee Summit, MO. Spivey was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and a son Robert W. Cravens, August 15, 1978.
