Robert "Bob" F. Begemann, 82, of Odessa, Missouri passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 at the Golden Living New Haven Nursing Home, in Odessa. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., April 19, 2012 at the Greenton Cemetery in Odessa. Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, (816) 633- 5524. Burial will be in the Greenton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Greenton Cemetery or Crossroads Hospice. Condolences may be left at www.ralphojones.com Bob was born on April 20, 1929 in Odessa to Alvin Dietrich and Claudia P. (Alumbaugh) Begemann. Bob was a 1947 graduate of Odessa High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, served in the Korean War, and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 5675. On March 19, 1954 he married Shirley Ann Gray who survives of the home in Odessa. He was a ballistics foreman at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant for thirteen years, and worked at the Town and Country Shoe Factory in the fifties. He and Shirley owned and operated Bob and Shirleys Tavern for 28 years and sponsored Bobs Tavern softball team for many years. He was proud to represent his place of business for many years with floats in the Puddle Jumpers Parade and loved to hear the compliments by patrons of the tavern. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by two children, Kimberly Penney of Odessa and Ronald Gray and wife, Isabel, of Bates City, MO; four grandchildren, Justin Penney, Jocelyn Penney, Cynthia Brown and Carly Bradley; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale Begemann, and a sister, Dorothy Ann Peerson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jarrot Ray Begemann, Charles Begemann and Fred Begemann; two sisters Alva Delay and Mayme Lou Davis.
