Wanda Marie (Moore) Markes, 81, of Odessa passed away October 25, 2019 at St. Luke East Hospital, Lee’s Summit.

Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am, Monday, October 28, 2019 at St. George Catholic Church, 716 S. Third St., Odessa, MO, 64076 Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until 11:00 am and Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am at the church. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery, Marshall, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. George Catholic Church. Memories and condolences may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com. Wanda was born December 16, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri to Eugene and Maxine (Prue) Moore. She graduated from Glennon High School in Mission, Kansas. On June 7, 1958 she married William Christopher Markes. Wanda had worked at Old St. Mary’s Hospital in Kansas City. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church and the Arabian Horse Association. Wanda enjoyed showing horses and rabbits and raising dogs.

Survivors include her husband, William, of the home; children, Lois Behrends of Kingsville, Kary Markes of Independence, Cindee Markes of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, Chris Markes of Independence, Danny Markes of Independence, Gerry Markes and wife Nicki of Kirbyville, Missouri, Patrick Markes of Leighton, Pennsylvania and Vicki Markes of Odessa; sisters, Linda Rucker and Michelle Buss of Kansas; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Gregory Behrends.
