Virginia Helen Fetter

Virginia Helen Fetter, 101, died on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at her home in Lexington. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Lexington Memory Gardens Cemetery, Lexington, MO. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Lexington United Methodist Church.

Virginia Helen Moore was born on March 7, 1914 to Albert and Dolly Maynard Moore. She married Melvin Fetter in 1936. Virginia was a county and state employee for many years. In the 1930's she traveled the county with Mrs. Hazel Blackwell for the Lafayette County Welfare Office. In the 1940's and 1950's she was a caseworker for the Missouri State Employment Office division in Lexington. From 1963 to 1983, she worked at the Higginsville State School and Hospital as medical records librarian and financial resources investigator. She retired after 35 years of service to the State.

Survivors include her son, Mel Fetter and wife Pam of Lexington, MO; her daughters, Dr. Carol Erdwins, and husband Gary of Vienna, VA; and Linda Fetter, Lexington, MO. Also surviving are her grandsons, Travis Fetter, Sebastian Stockman, Jonathan Stockman and Christopher Erdwins and her great grandchildren, Carleigh, Annie and Ike. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Melvin in 1972.
