Virginia Ruth (Boleyn) Braley, 91, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at her son’s home surrounded by family.
A visitation will be held Monday, November 15, 2021, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A Mass of Christian Burial with Celebrant Father Bryan Amthor will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A Rite of Committal will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Business Hwy 13, Higginsville, MO, 64037. Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association. Virginia was born on January 27, 1930, to Leonard and Fern Marie (Jacoby) Boleyn in Oelwein, Iowa. On March 8, 1947, Virginia was united in marriage to Ivan Wilgus Braley, Sr. He preceded her in death. She owned and operated McMillen Tool Company in Sunrise Beach, Missouri for 55 years. Virginia was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Laurie, Missouri. She was the room mother for all four of her children when they were in school. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Virginia enjoyed traveling and going to the casino.
Survivors include a son, Ivan Braley, Jr. (Theresa) of Odessa, MO, three daughters, Frances Lewis (Larry) of Kansas City, MO, Patricia VanPelt of Sunrise Beach, MO, and Cheryl Hill (Steve) of Carmichael, CA; three sisters, Nora Behr of IA, Shirley Milligan of IA, and Judy Walker of IA; three brothers, Sid Boleyn if IA, Ralph Boleyn (Marla) of IA, and Roger Boleyn (Marlys) of IA; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Ivan, Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mildred Braley and Lillian Welch; two brothers, Dewey and Tommy Boleyn; and a great-granddaughter, Bristol Braley.
