Virginia Grace Durham, 97 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. FACE MASK ARE REQUIRED. Burial will be in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association. Grace was born on October 22, 1923 in rural Johnson County, MO to George and Maymie (Davidson) Boone. She graduated from Odessa High School. Grace was united in marriage to Paul Elton Durham in Kansas City, MO, he preceded her in death in 1987. She worked for the Odessa Shoe Factory, Brand & Puritz Garment Factory, and Feldman’s before retiring. Grace also worked at Whiteman Air Force Base for a short period of time during World War II. She was a member of the Odessa First Baptist Church and the Odessa Saddle & Bridle Club. Grace is also a past Sectary of the Saddle & Bridle Club. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, she was an avid flower gardener, loved riding horses, fishing, and an animal lover, especially her dogs.
Survivors include two children, John Durham and wife Kathy of Odessa, MO and Paula Tyler and husband Jim of Odessa, MO; six grandchildren, Staci Shay and husband Jason of Odessa, MO Bobbi Tyler and fiancé Darrell Gorham of Odessa, MO, Kristal Wyatt, and husband Ernie of Centerview, MO, Marci Gann of Raytown, MO, Tony Durham of Blue Springs, MO and Amanda Cook and husband Tommy of Odessa, MO; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Grace was preceded in death by a grandson, Dennis Durham in infancy, three sisters, Stella Palmer, Essie Matthews, and Beulah Blackmore; and a brother in infancy.
