Viola Delores McGrath, 89, of Blue Springs, Missouri, formerly of Lexington, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at her home. Graveside service will be at Lexington Memory Gardens Cemetery on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 10:00am. Visitation will be Friday, July 21, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Viola was born January 9, 1928 in Troy, Kansas, the daughter of Bert Kenneth and Parthena E. (Bloss) Frakes. She married Chester Dale Gore in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1979. She then married James McGrath in 1982, he passed away in 2004. Viola worked as a seamstress and was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Gasperino of Blue Springs, Missouri, James Gore of Lexington, Missouri, Jerry Gore of Excelsior Springs, Missouri and Marjorie Suddarth of Polo, Missouri; her step children, Ann Fowler of Higginsville, Missouri, Terrence McGrath of Kansas City, Missouri and Jeffrey McGrath of Lexington, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, several step grandchildren and an abundance of great and great great grandchildren.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; two sisters, Velma Mae Wisdom and Mayetta Emerson; and a step daughter, Theresa Blair.
