Viola Grace (Day) Campbell, 107, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the St. Mary’s Manor in Blue Springs, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday January 23, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, 100 W. Hwy OO, Odessa, MO, 64076. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Burial will be in the Odessa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church, Odessa Senior Center or St. Mary’s Manor Activities Fund. Viola was born on September 29, 1909 in Napoleon, MO to John G. and Anna (Hightower) Day. She married Aubrey Campbell on October 20, 1927 in Independence, MO. In November of 1987 he preceded her in death. In addition to raising her family, Viola also had a home business for 45 years of baking and decorating cakes. During that time period she also worked at Lake City for 8 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa. In addition to spending time with her family and friends she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, embroidery, playing cards, traveling, and china painting.
Survivors include her daughter, Anna Jane (Campbell) Stubblefield Couch of Odessa, MO; two grandchildren, Janet Pallette and husband Larry and Steve Stubblefield and wife Cheyenne all of Odessa, MO; six great grandchildren, Samantha Harms and husband Ross, Stefanie Gann and husband Michael, Vincent Stubblefield, Marissa Stubblefield, Ashley McLaughlin and husband Matthew and Steven Aaron Stubblefield and wife Samantha; five great great grandchildren, Archer Gann, Grayson Gann, Jack Wiggins, Sawyer Johnson and Ava Grace Stubblefield; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Viola was preceded in death by two brothers, Walker Day and Edwon Day; and two sisters, Genevieve Lanphear and Roberta Henning.
