Vernon Leroy Doak, Jr., 76, of Lexington, Missouri passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023, in the comfort of his home.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 S. St., Lexington, MO, 64067, 660-259-2245. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Lexington Elk’s Lodge. Vernon was born on November 2, 1946, in Lexington, MO to Vernon Leroy Doak, Sr. and Betty (Goodloe) Doak. He graduated from North Kansas City High School in North Kansas City, MO. On January 29, 1966, Vernon was united in marriage to Patsy “Pat” Joyce Malone in North Kansas City, MO. Vernon and Pat owned and operated Lafayette County Glass for 30 plus years in Lexington. He was a lifetime member of the Lexington Elk’s Lodge and co-founder of the River Valley Cruisers. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Vernon enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and building hotrods.
Vernon is survived by his wife Pat Doak of Lexington, MO; three sons, Butch Doak, and Dale Doak and wife Annie both of Lexington, MO, and Rodney Doak of Waverly, MO; eight grandchildren, Miles Doak, Hannah Norris and husband Josh, Morgan Doak, Dylon Doak, Karlee Doak, Dale Doak, Jr., Dalton Doak, and Wyatt Doak; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Terry Michael Doak of Mississippi; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Kate Doak.
