Vera Lucille (Morrow) Luehrman, 93, of Lexington, Missouri passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at St. Luke Evangelical Free Church, 700 MO-224, Wellington, MO, 64097. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the church. Interment will be at Machpelah Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Show-Me Christian Youth Home. Vera was born October 5, 1930, in Tunas, Missouri to Robert “Joe” and Gussie Edna (Howard) Morrow. She graduated in 1947, from Malta Bend High School. From 1960 to 1991, Vera worked for Sprint and United Telephone as a telephone operator. Vera was an active member of St. Luke Evangelical Free Church. Vera was united in marriage on July 15, 1977, to Edward Henry Luehrman in Lexington, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 1, 2014. Throughout her life, Vera had a passion for spending quality time with her family and friends, enjoying camping trips, feeding birds, and creating beautiful, embroidered tea towels. She was especially renowned for her delectable homemade granny cookies that brought smiles to everyone's faces.
Vera is survived by seven children, Aleen Barker of Lexington, MO, Daniel (Marilyn) Lefholz of Lexington, MO; Keenan Lefholz of Lexington, MO, Julie Riekhof of Lexington, MO, Don Luehrman of Killeen, TX, Roger (Donna) Luehrman of Warrensburg, MO, and Linda (Steve) Zumalt of Lexington, MO; 24 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; son-in-law, John Hamann of Shawnee, KS; daughter-in-law, Nancy Luehrman of Holts Summit, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Along with both her parents and husband, Vera was preceded in death by two children, Sharon Hamann and Richard Luehrman; two brothers, Harold Morrow and Carl Morrow; daughter-in-law, Karen Luehrman and a son-in-law, Cecil Barker.
