Twyla Jean (Schelert) Swope, 59, of Lexington passed away September 21, 2019 at the Lafayette Regional Health Center. A memorial service will be Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11:00 am at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. There will also be a celebration of life from 1:00 until 5:00 pm on Saturday at the Lexington Moose Lodge. Memorials may be left to the family to help with funeral expenses, in care of Tammy Mooren.

Twyla was born September 16, 1960 in Toppenish, Washington to Rudolph and Lavetta (Neeland) Schelert. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, canning and baking, especially cinnamon rolls. She also enjoyed playing bingo.
Twyla is survived by her children, Tammy Mooren and companion Brian Kaminski of St. Marys, Georgia, Susan Foster and husband Brian of Oklahoma and Anthony Goolsby, Jr. of Lexington; brothers, Steven Schelert of Halfway, Missouri, Keith Schelert and wife Tracy of Kansas and Kenneth Schelert and wife Leeanne of Kansas; sisters, Brenda Lewin and husband Kevin of Idaho and Lucinda Schelert of Halfway, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and her ex husband Dave Swope of Lexington. She was preceded in death by her parents.
