Timothy David Fischer, 74, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.
A private inurnment will take place at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Odessa VFW or Vasculitis Foundation. Timothy was born on September 17, 1945 in Cleveland, OH to Michael and Lillian (Capko) Fischer. After attending Kirtland High School in Kirtland, OH, he was drafted into the United States Army on May 18, 1966, being part of the original Old Reliables at Fort Riley. While serving Timothy spent one year in Vietnam serving in 9th infantry division 4th Battallion 47th infantry Charlie Company, where he received National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle), Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. The extraordinary story can be read in the book titled “The Boys of ’67 Charlie Company, War in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on May 17, 1968. In 1982 Timothy was united in marriage to Sandra (Lockhart) in Odessa, MO. He worked as a bricklayer for the Kansas City Local 15. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Odessa, MO. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Timothy enjoyed manicuring his lawn, gardening, long road trips, being at the lake, and being a master of barbecuing. He loved his family and pets deeply and enjoyed caring for them. His daughters and wife were his pride and joy.
In addition to his wife, Sandra, survivors include three daughters, Brandi Fischer and husband Greg Smith of Independence, MO, Alicia Fischer and husband Brandon Owens of Ashland, OR, and Jacque Howser of Arizona; one brother, Mick Fischer and wife Judy of Painesville, OH; mother in law, Dolores Lockhart of Odessa, MO; a sister in law, Linda Long of Odessa, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
Timothy was preceded in death by his parents, and a father in law, Duane Lockhart.
