Fred Eugen Martinitz, 87, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Research Medical Center, VITAS Hospice. Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 17, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. www.ralphojones.com. Fred was born on June 30, 1925 in Stuttgart Germany to Friedrich and Pauline Christiane (Pfizenmaier) Martinitz. Fred served in World War II. He graduated high school in Ludwigsburg Germany. He later earned a Degree in Mechanical Engineering. On February 7, 1964 he was united in marriage to Beverly Sue Wulfekammer in Levasy, MO. Fred and Beverly started the Distec Corporation in 1978 and in 1987 moved the company to Odessa, MO. He loved to go golfing and fishing. He and Beverly have traveled to many places, but Europe is their favorite. In addition to Freds wife Beverly survivors include a daughter, Robin L. Shakeshaft and husband Russ of Odessa, MO; four grandchildren, Caitlin Shakeshaft of Promise City, Iowa, PFC Matthew Shakeshaft, USMC, of Cherry Point MAS, North Carolina, Erin Shakeshaft of Odessa, MO and Sean Shakeshaft of Odessa, MO. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Cuntz.
