Thomas Lee Begemann, 65, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 12, 2015 at the Zion United Church of Christ, 105 N. Mary St., Mayview, MO 64071, with Pastor Kristin Aardema Faigh officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO 64076, 816-633-5524. Burial will be in the Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Zion United Church of Christ, Mayview. Tom was born on August 15, 1949 in Odessa, MO to Carlie and Dorothy (Schowengerdt) Begemann. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1967. Tom spent his life farming. When he was not farming he could be found spending time with family and friends, fishing or telling a good joke. On August 4, 1989 he married Sharon Kay (Coleman) Begemann in Mayview. Tom was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Mayview.
In addition to his wife and mother, Tom is survived by four children, Matt Begemann and wife Glenda of Bates City, MO, Chris Begemann and wife Julie of Odessa, MO, Chris Coleman of Odessa, MO and Justina Begemann and fiancé Robert Setina of Costa Mesa, California; five grandchildren, Solomon, Abraham, Kaydon and Karlea Begemann and KayLee Setina; three brothers, Jim Begemann and wife Teresa of Odessa, MO, Ron Begemann and wife Joan of Odessa, MO and Ray Begemann of Odessa, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his father.
