Terry Lee Gilkeson, 76, of Holden, Missouri passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. 

 

A graveside service  with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 22, 2024, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Bus MO-13 Hwy, Higginsville, MO, 64037. Terry was born July 6, 1948, in Harrisonville, Missouri to Gene and Juanita (Page) Gilkeson. He graduated in 1965 from Harrsonville High School. After high school, Terry went on to pursue his bachelor’s degree in biomedical technology. Terry was united in marriage to Monica Jean (Barber) Gilkeson on August 9, 1968, in Aye, Massachusetts. In service to his country, Terry proudly served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1971. Throughout his career, Terry made significant contributions working for the secret service and the VA before retiring as a Biomedical technician at Children's Mercy Hospital. He cherished moments spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, and had a soft spot for his cats. An avid lover of the outdoors, Terry found great joy in yardwork and the outdoors.

 

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Monica Jean Gilkeson of Holden, MO; three children, Jeannette Warren of Warrensburg, MO, Stacy (Jerry Gartner) Poulignot-Gartner of Odessa, MO, and Debbie Gould of Warrensburg, MO; four grandchildren, Taylor (Trevor) McFarland, Brooke (Robert) Mace, Nicole Warren, and Gabby Gartner; one great grandchild, Memphis Mace; one brother, Larry (Marie) Gilkeson of Blue Springs, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. 

 

Along with both his parents, Terry was preceded by a great-grandchild, Oaklee Mae Mace.
