Teresa Raye (Gering) Johnson, 73, of Lexington, Missouri passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, MO, 64067, 660-259-2245. A rosary will begin at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Teresa was born on March 15, 1948, in Sheridan, Wyoming to Nolan and Madeleine Mary (Claeys) Gering. She graduated from Oak Park High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1966. On December 30, 1967, Teresa was united in marriage to neighbor and high school sweetheart, Charles "Charlie" Johnson, Jr. in Kansas City, Missouri. She and Charlie owned and operated Good Neighbor Pharmacy in Lexington from 1980 to 2007. Teresa also enjoyed traveling. From the deserts of Arizona, mountains of Colorado, to the Florida Keys, seeing this great country, sitting next to her loving husband and (beloved pet Mia) was a great pleasure. Teresa's greatest passion was her children and grandchildren. Watching them grow, keeping in touch, and making each of them feel special and loved was her greatest attributes. She was a member of the Lexington Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Charlie; two sons, Stephen Johnson and wife, Beth of Oakland, TN and Matthew Johnson and wife, Kelli, of Steamboat Springs, CO; a daughter, Jenny Johnson of Lexington, MO; a brother, Robert Gering and wife, Lisa of Lawrence, KS; and ten grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew, Gwen, Clara, Hailey, Gage, Lucas, Elijah, Kate, and Shiloh Johnson.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Debbie and Sandra Gering.
