Tamera Joyce Gilmore, 50, of Blue Springs, MO, formerly of Odessa, MO passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524, with Pastor Paula Isgrig officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Tamera was born on July 8, 1963 in Nevada, MO to Charles Dean Gilmore and Wanda Faye (Summers) Munro. She graduated from Central Union High School in El Centro, Calafornia. After high school she attended Indiana University where she earned her Associates Degree. After earning her Associates Degree she attended Perdue University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree, Tamera was placed on the Dean’s Honor Roll. She worked for the North Kansas City Hospital as a Histo Technologist for 22 years. Tamera was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Blue Springs, MO. She is a member of the ACSP-American Clinical Society of Pathology. Tamera enjoyed working in children’s ministry at Sheffield, reading, swimming, camping, traveling and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her father, Tamera is survived by a step mother, Donna Gilmore; two daughters, Ariana Gilmore of Blue Springs, MO and Misha Miller-Gilmore of Rolla, MO; a grandson, Nicholas Moreno of Blue Springs, MO; three sisters, Teresa Bird and husband Doug of Higginsville, MO, Teena White of Blue Springs, MO and Tawnya Munro of Glasgow, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
Tamera was preceded in death by her mother.
