Stanley V. Wilhoit, 91, formerly of Lexington, MO passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Northcare Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO. Stanley was born January 29, 1923 in Brunswick, Missouri, the son of Walker W. and Francis M. Nolting Wilhoit. He married Geraldine L. Parker on May 18, 1946 in Lexington. She preceded him in death on October 31, 2002. Stanley was retired from the Corps of Engineers. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theatre. He was of the Baptist faith having attended the Lexington First Baptist Church and the Baptist Church at Sunrise Beach, Missouri. Stanley is survived by three children: Gary Wilhoit and wife, Debbie, of St. Louis, MO, Scott Wilhoit and wife, Natallie, Doylestown, PA, and Marcia Schumacher and husband, Terry Hansen, Kansas City, MO. A sister, Virginia Mautino, of Wellington, MO. There are five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Lexington Memory Gardens with Military Rites. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorials may made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation or to the Alzheimers Foundation.
