Steve Gates, 69, of Napoleon, MO passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Lees Summit, MO Steve Gates was born June 28, 1946, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Stanley Stephen Gates, Jr. and Dorothy Marie Francis Gates. Steve married Janice Sue Harms on March 9, 1969 in Fayetteville, MO. Steve was a farmer. He had served in the National Guard unit at Lexington. He had served on the State and National Democratic Committees, served as a 4-H Leader, and was a former Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Wellington, MO. Steve is survived by his wife, Janice of the home. Children: Stanley Stephen Gates, IV, Parkville, MO, Stephanie Sue Lawson (Jason), California, MO and Stuart Samuel Gates, Napoleon, MO . A brother, Tim Gates, Lakewood, TX. There are six grandchildren. Services will be 12 noon, Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, MO (660) 259-2245. Burial will be in Arnold Cemetery, Wellington, MO. Visitation from 11 a.m. until service time on Friday. Memorials can be made to Arnold Cemetery in Steves memory.
