Sarah L. (Drake) Oliaro, 94, of Lexington, died on May 23, 2018 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Thursday, May 31, 2018 with visitation beginning at 10:00am and funeral Mass at 11:00am. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
Sarah was born in Commerce, Oklahoma on November 3, 1923 to Etta Emma (Morrison) and Fred B. Drake. She attended school in Dover, the Hicklin country school and Lexington. She married Joseph F. Oliaro, Jr. on April 4, 1974. Sarah worked in the banking industry more than thirty years, retiring in 1984 as Assistant Cashier with Bank of America in Lexington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her parents; stepmother, Agnes; brothers, Francis, Steven and Simpson Drake; and sisters, Juanita Quigley and Lyda Sanders. Sarah is survived by her stepsons and their wives, Steve and Charlette Oliaro and Jeff and Wende Oliaro; grandchildren, Stephanie (Scott) Anderson, Michelle (Marlin) Roach, Joseph (Katie) Oliaro, Lance (Stacy) Oliaro and Leslie (Joey) Braden; great grandchildren, Bailey (Cassie) Anderson-Keller, Rebecca Anderson, Hailey and Jacob Roach, J.P. and Sam Oliaro, Lincoln, Lawson and Susannah Oliaro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sara was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Altar Society and Battlefield Piecemakers Quilt Club. She was a devout Catholic, a devoted wife and loving stepmother who will be missed for her smile, her kindness and her love for family and friends.
