Ronald Allen Amer

Ron was born on March 17, 1947, in Lexington, MO, the son of Albert “Beans” and Marguerite (Dunkle) Amer. At a young age, he was baptized by his Uncle Clifford, a moment that shaped his lifelong faith. He met Ruth Ann Hall of Lexington, early on, and together they built a marriage filled with devotion and love. Together they enjoyed 37 years of marriage and were blessed with two daughters, Renee and Stefanie, whom they raised in Bethany, MO. He and Ruth Ann both rededicated their lives to the Lord in 1984.

After Ruth Ann’s passing in 2006, Ron found love and companionship once again with Judy, and they were married in 2013. She survives in the home. Additional survivors include: daughter, Renee Fordyce and her husband Richard of Bethany; Stefanie Riggs and her husband Jason of Lebanon; step-daughter Kim Massey of Blue Springs; grandchildren Ethan Fordyce of Green City, Emma Fordyce of Jefferson City, Bailey Mitchell and husband Gabe of Lebanon, Keeley Riggs and fiancé Brennen of Lebanon; step-grandchildren Zach Massey and Jared Massey of Blue Springs; one great-grandson Cruze Keller of Lebanon; sister, Sandy Harris and her husband Phillip of Springfield. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth Ann, his sister Sylvia Haworth of Springfield, and his sister Sharon Bayne of Lexington.

Ron grew up in Lexington and graduated in the class of 1965. He dedicated much of his career to service, working for the Soil Conservation Service for 23 years and later with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 13 years. His work reflected his deep respect for the land and his commitment to stewardship. Ron also had a deep sense of duty to his country. In 1990, he answered the call to serve in Operation Desert Storm with the 795th Postal Service, demonstrating his courage and commitment to protecting our nation. His service was a source of great pride, and he carried that same dedication and discipline throughout his life.

Beyond his work and faith, Ron found great joy in the things he loved. He cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchild. He was a dedicated member of Victory Church and a competitive participant in the Sleeper Lawn Tractor Pulling Association, where he took pride in pulling Grandpa's Cub 1, 2, and 3. Ron had an adventurous spirit—he loved exploring the open road on his motorcycle and had a lifelong passion for fast Mustangs.

Throughout his life, Ron remained steadfast in his faith, always striving to lead his family with love, integrity, and a firm foundation in Jesus Christ. His greatest joy was ensuring that his loved ones knew the strength and peace found in a personal relationship with God. Ron’s legacy of faith, love, and dedication will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He died March 11, 2025 in the comfort of his home with Judy, Renee and Stefanie at his side.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Compassus Hospice Care of Osage Beach or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Visitation will be held on March 15,2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 pm at the Lexington First Assembly of God Church, 2090 Berkeley Street, Lexington, MO 64067. Interment with military honors will follow services in Machpelah Cemetery in Lexington.
