Roger “Bones” Louis Dyson, 72, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at home.
A family hosted graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Bus MO-13 Hwy, Higginsville, MO, 64037. Bones was born on August 21, 1951, in Higginsville, MO to Harold and Nellie (Wilson) Dyson. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1969. Following high school Bones enlisted in the United States Air Force until being Honorably Discharged. On June 23, 1975, he was united in marriage to Wynne McLaughlin. She preceded him in death on April 1, 2016. Bones owned and operated Dyson’s Trading Post & Appliance Repair for many years before retiring and turning the family business over to his son’s. He was a member of the Odessa VFW Post 5675. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Bones enjoyed tinkering and was very innovative. He loved taking old non-working objects and giving them new life and meaning.
Bones is survived by his two sons, Jessie Dyson and wife Heather of Odessa, MO and Aaron Dyson and fiancé April Manning of Odessa, MO; six grandchildren, Misty, Devon, Haiden, Bryce, Blake, and Jersie; four great-grandchildren, Journee, Emmett, Ryatt, and Wynnlee; three sisters, Connie Stoffle of Holt, MO, Marguerite Myers of Blue Springs, MO and Brenda Oliver and husband Gene Callahan of Odessa, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Bones was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Dyson and Leroy Dyson.
