ROBERT (BOB) WELCH

Robert L. ( Bob) Welch, 80, of Lexington, MO. passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Riverbend Heights Health and Rehab Center, Lexington. Robert Lee Welch was born on March 24, 1933 in Dover, MO to Lynn OConnell and Lulu Waddell Welch. Bob worked on the assembly line for GM for 30 years. He married Kay Fairchild on August 19, 1970 in Oklahoma. Bob was an Army Veteran and served in the Korean War and stationed in France. Bob was a member of the 1st Baptist Church, Lexington and the Lexington American Legion and past member of the UAW. Survivors include his wife, Kay of the home, two daughters, Debbie Hutchinson, Lawson and Terrie Day and husband, Danny, Lexington, and a son Bill Welch and wife Connie, Poplar Bluff, MO. There are 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Marilyn Wood, Higginsville, and Lulu Bell Morris, Lexington, MO. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, William OConnell Welch. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 2 pm at the Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, MO. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 5 to 7 pm. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville with military honors. Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
