Robert “Bob” Martin Bozarth, 90, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the John Knox Village Care Center in Lee’s Summit, MO.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday December 5, 2016 at the New Horizon Presbyterian Church, 4266 MO Hwy 131, Odessa, MO, 64076. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday December 5, 2016 at the church. Per Bob’s wishes he was cremated. Robert was born April 25, 1926 in rural Odessa, Missouri son of Margaret Smith and S. J. Bozarth. He lived in Bates City 18 years and in Odessa the rest of his life. He worked at the Vendo Company and R.M.F. Steel for 43 years. He served 2 years in the infantry in the Philippines and the army occupation in Japan during WWII. He was married to Helen J. Manking on Dec. 21, 1946. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and served 24 years as treasurer. He was a volunteer at the Odessa Senior Center for several years.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Margaret and S. J. Bozarth and three brothers, Russell, J. W. and Lee Bozarth. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Helen M. Bozarth and his son and daughter-in-law James A. and Dixie A. Bozarth of Blue Springs and their children: Kara Cook, husband Craig and three children, Kate, Abby and Connor of Blue Springs; J. R. and Casey Wikstrom Bozarth and children Noah, Hannah and Isaiah from Blue Springs; and Adam M. and Jamie Saas Bozarth and their two children McKinley and Hudson of Minooka, Illinois. He leaves a brother Fred Bozarth and wife Marilyn of Las Vegas and a sister Mary Payne of Alamogordo, New Mexico and numerous nephews and nieces.
