Richard "Rick" Earl Kaullen, 74, of Lexington passed away October 6, 2021 at Centerpoint Medical Center. There will be a graveside service at 2:00 pm, Monday, October 11, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lexington. Memorials may be made to the Minutemen Athletic Booster Club. Rick was born October 15, 1946 in Lexington to Wilbert and Terissa (Bersano) Kaullen. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1964. Rick enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1966 and was promoted to corporal in 1967. During his service he earned a "National Defense Service Medal" as well as a "Rifle Expert" badge. On August 23, 1969 Rick married Phyllis (Bohanon) Kaullen. He worked in commercial construction for over 20 years and was a member of the Kansas City Local Carpenter's Union. He then retired from the Lexington School District as the maintenance director. Rick lived for his children and grandchildren and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also greatly enjoyed scuba diving, and taking vacations with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, of the home; sons, Troy Kaullen and wife Dustie of Carrollton and Kyle Kaullen and wife Mandy of Lexington; grandchildren, Haley Briddle, Callie Kaullen, Terissa Kaullen, Corbin Kaullen and Blake Kaullen; and brothers, Clyde Kaullen and wife Nancy of Linwood, Washington, Loyd Kaullen and wife Emma of Lexington, Gary Kaullen and wife Shari of Lexington and Michael Kaullen and wife Denise of Wellington. Rick was preceded in death by his parents.
