Odessa, Missouri

 

Rex Wallace Marshall, Jr., 80, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023, at his residence in Odessa, Mo surrounded by his loving family.

 

A private family service will be held. Memorials may be made out to the Visiting Nurses Association Hospice Care. Rex was born September 11, 1942, to Rex Wallace Marshall, Sr., and Anna Mildred (Petering) Marshall Lamb in Warrensburg, MO. Rex attended Warrensburg High School. He was drafted in the United States Army in 1964, where he served proudly for three years in the Signal Corp during the Vietnam War. While serving, he received good conduct medical, marksman medal, and Vietnam service medal. Rex was united in marriage on October 8, 1977, to Brenda Kay (Mays) Marshall in Buckner, MO. He retired from the General Motors Leeds Plant in Kansas City as a maintenance worker. Rex was a member of the First Baptist Church in Warrensburg, MO.  Along with spending time with family and friends, Rex enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, Nascar, watching wrestling, and playing shuffleboard in his basement.  

 

Rex is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay (Mays) Marshall, three children, Sandra “Sandy” Danner of Napoleon, MO; Tracy Welsh of Wellington, MO; and Leslie (Joanna) Danner of Odessa, MO; seven grandchildren, Timothy (Amanda) Welsh of Omaha, NE; Rhiannon (Torrey) Lovercamp of Alma, MO; Darrion Welsh of Wellington, MO; KayLee (Joe) Davis of Lexington, MO; Jessika (Will) Davis of Napoleon, MO; Joshua Danner of Liberty, MO; Ryan Danner of Liberty, MO; ten great grandchildren, Brexton Welsh, Oliver Daniel Welsh, Kalija and Kane Lovercamp, Jayd and Kindred Mitchell, RhiLee Davis, Oliver James Danner, Camden Edwards and Julian Danner; one sister, Pamela Lamb of Wellington, MO and many nieces, nephews, relative and friends.  

 

Rex was preceded in death by both his parents and stepfather, Charles Lamb.
