Raymond “Ray” Louis Eagan, 74, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 at home surrounded by family.
Ray was born on January 20, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to Wilfred and Pauline (Kolterman) Eagan. He graduated from East High School in Kansas City, MO. Ray served in the United States Navy from 1960 until he was honorably discharged in 1964. He married Karlene (Tillman) Eagan on November 26, 1971 at Nativity Catholic Church. Ray retired from Century Fire Sprinkler in Kansas City, Kansas and was a member of the Sprinkler Fitter’s Union Local #314 in Kansas City, MO for 44 years. In his younger years Ray enjoyed racing mini stocks and hunting. In addition to spending time with his family and friends he enjoyed raising horses, farming, fishing and watching the grandkids in their activities. He was a member of Ivanhoe Masonic Lodge #446, American Legion #268 and VFW Post 5675.
In addition to his wife Karlene, Ray is survived by two children, Becky Eagan of Odessa, MO and Bill Eagan and wife Amanda of Odessa, MO; five grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren; three brothers, Harold Eagan of Lee’s Summit, MO, Richard Eagan of Kansas City, MO and Gerald Eagan of Independence, MO and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by a brother, John "Jack" Edward Eagan.
The Family will host a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. at the Odessa VFW Post 5675, February 20, 2016. Per Raymond’s request he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, the local VFW Post 5675 or St. George Catholic Church in Odessa, MO.
