David John Lundquist, 69, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at St. Marys Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Odessa Church of Christ with Reverend Greg Ziegler officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the church. Burial will be in the Odessa City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Odessa Church Of Christ. Condolences for the family may be left at www.ralphojones.com. David was born on October 12, 1943 in Independence, MO to David Harold and Grace Marguerite (Gunzel) Lundquist. He was a 1961 graduate of William Christman High School. David graduated from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO with a degree in Education. He taught as a Biology Teacher at Odessa High School for thirty years until his retirement in 1996. David also held jobs on the side while teaching; he worked at IGA, Rohmans Thriftway and retired from Patricias. He started the Odessa Trapping Club in the 1970s until it ended in the early 1980s. On August 8, 1964 he was united in marriage to Pamela Kay Allen in Sugar Creek, MO. David and Pam are members of the Odessa Church of Christ. They loved to travel all over; a memorable vacation they took was a Cruise with the Class of 1971 in 2011. David loved gardening, working in the orchard at home, fishing, waterfowl and mushroom hunting. Photography was a hobby of his especially wildlife and scenery pictures. The most important thing in Davids life was his family and spending time with them. He will be greatly missed. In addition to Davids wife Pam he is survived by three children, Julie Madrigal of Odessa, MO, Devin Lundquist and wife Sandra of Odessa, MO and Joel Lundquist and wife Allison of Oak Grove, MO; seven grandchildren, Matt Beckman, Brian Beckman, Kaylynn Wolfe, Konnar Lundquist, Elyssa Lundquist, Carson Lundquist and Tori Lundquist; a brother, Robert Lundquist and wife Debbie of Independence, MO; a sister, Martha Hamm of Independence, MO; several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents.
