Preston E. Winningham, 84, of Lexington passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 7, 2018 at St Luke's Hospital, Kansas City. Per Preston's wishes there will be no visitation or services. Private burial will be at a later date.
Preston E. Winningham was born on April 23, 1934 in Lexington, MO to Lillian Parsley Winningham. Preston worked for the Lexington street department for 50 years and became the street commissioner for 43 years until his retirement in 1998. Preston knew poverty when growing up, and at a very young age he worked to help his family. He was a very devoted son, who provided his mother with a secure home and life's necessities' throughout her life. He set an example that work is required to be self-sufficient.
Preston is survived by his sister, Gloria of the home. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Lillian, his brothers Delmar, Elmer and his sister Helen Martin.
