Patricia Joan (Rice) Emison, 86, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, surrounded by her family in Independence, Missouri.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO 64076, 816-633-5524. Patricia was born on September 2, 1935, to Harlan Troy and Virginia Gould (VanNatta) Rice in Hutchinson, Kansas. She graduated from Hutchinson High School. Patricia married Earl Leon Crowson on November 7, 1953. Earl preceded in death on November 2, 1979, just 5 days short of their 26th wedding anniversary. Patricia worked close to 40 years as the Office Manager of Burrows Company. Patricia married James Ash Emison on December 11, 1983, in Independence, Missouri. James preceded in death on January 11, 2019. Patricia was a member of the Wellington United Methodist Church in Wellington, Missouri. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Patricia enjoyed bowling, NASCAR, playing cards and boating.
Survivors include her children, Robert Crowson of Helena, Montana, Terri Helverson of Garland, Texas, and Tricia (Larry) Eichner of Independence, Missouri; three step-children, Kent (Robin) Emison of Higginsville, Missouri, Kevin (Julie) Emison of Mason, Michigan, and Kelly (John) Bryden of Shawnee, Kansas; 16 grandchildren, Jeremy Crowson, David Crowson, April Jurinek, Rachel Howard, Scott Helverson, Scott Eichner, Kevin Eichner, Joseph Bryden, Elizabeth Bryden, Abigail Bryden, Brett Emison, Christopher Emison, Mark Emison, Jarod Emison, Maggie Hogan, and Katie Western; 20 great grandchildren; and sister, Judith Sutton of Dallas, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Patricia was preceded in death by her two husbands; parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Virgil Silbaugh, and brother-in-law, Robert Sutton.
