Orman Allen Kinnaman, 84, of Odessa, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family. 

 

Visitation will be held from 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Odessa Restoration Branch, 6783 MO-131, Odessa, Missouri, 64076. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024. Interment with military honors will follow at Odessa Cemetery in Odessa, Missouri. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Childrens Hospital. Orman was born in Independence, Missouri on August 18, 1939, to Allen and Myrtle (Landers) Kinnaman. He graduated from William Chrisman High School. As a teenager, Orman served in the US Navy and was honorably discharged July 10, 1959. He married his true love, Shirley Brown in 1960 and they raised their four children in Odessa, where they resided for the rest of their lives. He built a career at Ford Motor Company, until he retired in 1993. He pursued his love of guns by establishing Orman’s Gun Shop in Odessa, Missouri. Where he owned and operated. There he enjoyed and grew many new friendships who shared the love of hunting, firearms and comradery. 

 

Orman is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley; four children, Danny (Sandy) Kinnaman of Pittsburg, MO, Dana (Michael) DeFoe of Odessa, MO, Sheri (Bobby) Shepherd of Higginsville, MO and Jeff Kinnaman of Odessa, MO; seven grandchildren, Rachel DeFoe (Ryan) Newton, Cody Kinnaman, Zach DeFoe, Tiffany Kinnaman, Christian (Sabal) Shepherd, Chase Kinnaman and Brooklyn (Tyler) Langford; in addition to ten great-grandchildren that all adored him and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.  

 

Along with both parents, Orman was preceded in death his brother; Paul Kinnaman and sister; Jessie Craven.
