Norman Vialle

Norman Vialle Norman Vialle, 85, of Leawood, KS, died peacefully on Saturday, May 14, 2011, surrounded by his family. He was a long time resident of Lexington, MO and proud owner of the Maid-Rite drive in for 49 years. He was well known in Lexington, a consistent presence in a community of people that he loved and served for many years. Norman graduated from Lexington High School, class of 1944, and Kansas City Business College. He served honorably in WWII as a Staff Sergeant, First Cavalry Division, stationed in the Philippines. He was a member and past president of the Lexington Lions club, past president of the Lexington School Board, a fifty year member of the American Legion, and long-time board member of the Lexington B & L Bank. He served many years on the finance committee of the Lexington United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Lexington Blue Lodge #149 and a member of the Ararat Shrine Temple reaching the level of Legion of Honor. He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Jennie Giorza, two brothers, Eugene and Emile, 4 sisters, Blanche, Marguerite, Francis, and June. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sophie Kehrees Vialle, daughter Kim and husband Keith Bubalo, son Norman and wife Courtney Vialle, 4 grandchildren, Matt and wife Laura Bubalo and Megan Bubalo, Kate and Anna Vialle. The service will be held Tuesday, May 17th at 1:00 p.m. at the Lexington United Methodist Church, with a reception to follow. Burial will follow at the Machpelah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Lexington United Methodist Church, 1211 South 13 Hwy., Lexington, MO 64067.
