Norma Jean (Barker) Murry, 97 of Odessa, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Odessa Health Center in Odessa surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, Odessa, Missouri 64067. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Greenton Cemetery to follow. Memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church, Greenton Cemetery, Luminos Hospice. Memories of Norma and condolences for her family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page. Norma was born April 30, 1927, in Odessa, Missouri to Elmer M. & Dora Mae (Day) Barker. Norma’s career began at the young age of 17 when she started at Hipsh Tie Manufacturing. Then went to work for Gee Garment Company in Higginsville.

In 1963, she was proud to be the first six employees to work at Lafayette Sportswear, and then later spent many years worked on the assembly line at Harmon Electronics.

Norma was united in marriage on December 30, 1944, to William “Gene” Eugene Murry in Olathe, Kansas. Gene preceded her in death on October 19, 2012. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. Along with spending time with family and friends, Norma enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and cooking. A talented musician, Norma delighted many with her ability to play the guitar and piano by ear, as one of her hobbies.

Norma was survived by two children, Donald “Don” Eugene (Kathy) Murry of Odessa, MO and Michael “Mike” Alan (Sherry) Murry of Odessa, MO; four grandchildren, Justin (Jordan) Murry of Odessa, MO, Brian (Rachel) Murry of Mayview, MO, Brandon (Melissa) Murry of Odessa, MO; and Adam (Jessica) Murry of Odessa, MO; nine great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Jackson, Aubrey, Brooklyn, Gabriel, Maci, Allison, Maryn, and Millie; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Along with both her parents and husband, Norma was preceeded in death by two sisters, Ruby Murry and Sadie Barker; seven brothers, Clyde Barker, Matthew Barker, Myrul Barker, Milton Barker, David Alan Barker, John Barker, and Charles “Bus” Barker.
