Norma Lee Baker

April 23, 1925 — December 14, 2015

Norma Lee (Elliott) Morris Baker, 90, of Winfield, Kansas formerly of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Presbyterian Manor in Arkansas City, KS.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 18, 2015 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, with Pastor Jason Thornton officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bates City Cemetery in Bates City, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Christian Women’s Fellowship of the First Christian Church of Odessa. Norma was born on April 23, 1925 in Big Cabin, Oklahoma to Hiram Thomas Elliott, Sr. and Minnie Jewell (Trickey) Elliott. She graduated from Big Cabin High School in Big Cabin, OK. Norma married Allen L. Morris on February 24, 1945 and he preceded her in death on August 22, 1982. She later married Lawrence Baker on April 9, 1983 in Independence, MO. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2010. Norma was a member of the First Christian Church in Odessa. In addition to spending time with her family and friends she enjoyed wood carving, square dancing and traveling.

Norma is survived by a son, Dennis Allen Morris and wife Linda of Winfield, KS; a granddaughter, Kelly Bumgardner of Wichita, KS; two great grandchildren, Grant Bumgardner and Miles Bumgardner; two sisters, Ruth Marie Coombes of Denver, Colorado and Shirley Colleen Fristoe of Lee’s Summit, MO; many nieces and nephews; five step-children; six step-grandchildren; and ten step-great grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Allen L. Morris and her late husband Lawrence Baker; a granddaughter, Karen Morris; a grandson-in-law, Jeffrey Bumgardner; four brothers and four sisters.
