Norene Frankie (Halsey) Wilson, 93 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019 at home surrounded by family.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2019 at the First Baptist Church, 100 W. OO Highway, Odessa, MO, 64076. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Odessa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church. Norene was born on February 10, 1926 in Bates City, MO to Albert and Della Cleo (Ward) Halsey. She married Delbert Smith on August 24, 1946. On April 24, 1976 she married James T. Wilson and he preceded her in death on January 5, 1996. Norene worked for the Odessa Shoe Factory before going to work for Lake City Ammunition. She retired from Lake City after 24 years of service in 1996. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa. In addition to spending time with her family and friends she enjoyed painting, crafts, and dancing.
Survivors include her daughter, Darlene McDaniel of Independence, MO; six grandchildren, Paula, Felicia, Kyle, Sarah, Adam and Eric; seven great grandchildren, Kristen, Amanda, Brandon, Rhyannon, Sophia, Kaiya and Samuel; four great-great grandchildren; Braden, Lilly, Anistyn, and Rhett; one sister, Lorene Payne of Richmond, MO and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Norene was preceded in death by two children, Dwayne Smith and Donna Kay Bay; a great-great grandson, Renick; and five sisters, Jewel, Venita, Frances, Mary and Betty.
