Elton Dennis, Jr., 80, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, December 09, 2013 at the Oak Grove Nursing and Rehab in Oak Grove, MO. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Burial will be in the Odessa City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Lafayette County Cancer Coalition. Condolences for the family may be left at www.ralphojones.com or on our Facebook page. Elton was born on December 1, 1933 in Kansas City, MO to Elton Dennis, Sr. and Cecil Faye (McAllister) Dennis. He was a 1951 graduate of the Higginsville High School. Elton did Custom Farming for many farmers throughout his life. He served forty two years on the Odessa Fire and Rescue Protection District. Elton enjoyed camping, boating and working on old model farm tractors. Elton is survived by two sons, Donald Dennis of Lexington, MO and Richard Dennis and wife Mary of Odessa, MO; two grandchildren; a brother Cecil Perry Dennis and wife Linda of Augusta, Kansas. Elton was preceded in death by his parents.
