Neil Ray Crews, 65, of Lexington, Missouri, passed away October 31, 2018 at Lafayette Regional Health Center. The family will host a memorial service on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 7:00 pm at the Presbyterian Disciples Church, Lexington, Missouri. Visitation is on Saturday at the church from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. Inurnment will be at Shiloh Cemetery, Alton, Missouri at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Neil was born January 20, 1953 in St. Louis, Missouri to Dewey and Alma (Bronczyk) Crews. He married Joyce Elaine Wright in Lone Jack, Missouri September 23, 1972. Neil worked as a steelworker and later as a nurse at Wentworth Military Academy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge, the Eastern Star, the Moose Lodge and served on the Health Department Advisory Board of Lafayette County, Missouri. He also founded Lexington Boy Scout Troop #611.
Neil is survived by his wife, Elaine, of the home; his mother, Alma Crews, of Pocohantas, Arkansas; children, Major (Ret.) John Crews and wife Sunshine of Memphis, Tennessee and Lee Jones and husband Jackie of Lexington, Missouri; brother, Terry Crews of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; sister Dewanna Smith and husband Ronald of Pocohantas, Arkansas; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Wayne Crews.
