Nancy Karen Simpson

July 26, 1942 — May 9, 2024

Nancy Karen (Price) Simpson, 81 of Channahon, IL, recently of Blue Springs, MO passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Ignite Medical Resort St. Mary’s in Blue Springs, Missouri surrounded by her loving children. 

 

Nancy was born July 26, 1942, in Decatur, Illinois to William T. and Ruth Ella (Marsh) Price. She graduated from Joliet Township High School. Nancy was united in marriage on February 3, 1962, to Arthur Milton Simpson in Joliet, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 2013. Nancy worked for many years as an administrative assistant. She was a member of Beta Signa Phi, the National Society of Decorative Painters, and Illinois Prairie Painters. Before moving, Nancy was an active member of Channahon United Methodist Church in Illinois. Along with spending time with family and friends, Nancy enjoyed all things crafting, including drawing, painting, quilting, ceramics, and crocheting. 

 

Nancy is survived by three children, Michelle (Rick) Witherington of Morris, IL,  Christine “Chris” Swank of Opelika, AL, and Robert “Bob” (Chrystal) Simpson of Oak Grove, MO; eight grandchildren, Zackary Swank, Allison (Ryan) Coleman, Jacob Swank, Taylor (Noah) Swank-Lewis, Caleb Swank, Kaylee Simpson, Alek Simpson, and Kensi Simpson; five great grandchildren, Aubrey Swank, Renner Coleman, Maeven Coleman, Sienna Lewis, and Kaden Simpson, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

 

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, a grandson, Micah Swank; two sisters, S. Joan (Harry) Predmore and Marilyn (Ed) Rutkowski, five brothers, William (Joanne) Price Jr., Jackie W. Price, H. Eugene (Dorothy) Price, B. Dean Price, and Roger S. (Donna) Price.   

 

Inurnment will take place at a later date at Abraham Lincoln Nation Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
