Sylvian Edwin Neher

Sylvian Edwin Neher, 94, of Mayview, Missouri passed away on Sunday September 22, 2013 in Concordia, MO at the Lutheran Good Shepherd Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. , Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524, with Pastor Kristin Aardema Faigh officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral Home. Burial will be in the Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery, Mayview, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Zion United Church of Christ. Condolences for the family may be left at www.ralphojones.com. Sylvian was born on February 16, 1919 in Mayview, MO to Edwin and Melinda (Mische) Neher. He was a 1937 graduate of Odessa High School. On February 7, 1940 Sylvian was united in marriage to Lois E. (Buchanan) Neher in Mayview, MO. On October 7, 2001 she preceded him in death. Sylvian and Lois spent most of their life farming on the family farm in Mayview, MO. They are members of the Zion United Church of Christ, in Mayview, MO. He served on the Zion UCC Board and was a charter member of the Mayview Lions Club. Sylvian was a Lafayette CO. Johnson Grass Control Specialist. He was an avid hunter. He loved playing the accordion and played for many local events through the years. Survivors include a son, Larry Neher and wife Karen of Mayview, MO and a brother Wilbur Neher and wife Detta of Mayview, MO.
