Michael Kaullen, 68, of Wellington, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at home.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2022, at St. Luke Evangelical Free Church, 700 MO-224, Wellington, MO, 64097. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the church. Interment will be in the Greenton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Missouri Department of Conservation. Michael was born on January 17, 1954, in Lexington, MO to Wilbert J. and Terissa (Bersano) Kaullen. Michael was confirmed on May 14, 1961, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lexington. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School through 8th grade. He graduated in 1972 from Lexington High School in Lexington, MO. Michael was united in marriage to Denise Rae Kohlstaedt on November 16, 1974, in Lexington at the ICCC. He began his career as a steel worker with Armco Steel, later known as GST as a Rod Mill Worker. He retired in 2001 after 30 years of service. Michael began another career with KCPL/Evergy as a fuel yard worker and retired in 2020. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Local 348 and the I.B.E.W. Local Union 124. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Michael enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid Royals fan and season ticket holder. Mike never met a stranger and had a smile bigger than life itself. Michael loved to garden and share his produce with friends and neighbors. He and Denise enjoyed traveling, taking road trips all over the United States and traveling abroad to Hawaii, Mexico, and Jamaica just to name a few places. Most of all he was a family man, he loved to go watch his kids and grandkids sporting events and just spending time with them.
Michael is survived by his wife of 48 years, Denise Kaullen of Wellington, MO; two children, Nicole Denise Dobson and husband Bret of Kansas City, MO and Spencer Michael Kaullen and partner Jakob Lee Adamson of Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren, Eli Spencer Dobson and Maisie Rae Dobson; three brothers, Clyde Kaullen and wife Nancy of Lynnwood, Washington, Loyd Kaullen and wife Emma of Lexington, MO, and Gary Kaullen and wife Shari of Lexington, MO; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Kaullen of Lexington, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
