Mike ''Bennie'' McAlister, 59, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 at the Lexington United Methodist Church, Lexington, MO. at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 11:00 am until service time. Interment will be at Machpelah Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the ''Wreaths across America''.
Michael Thomas McAlister was born on August 15, 1957 in Lexington, MO to Thomas Benjamin ''Bennie'' and Shirley Baker McAlister. He married DeEtta McClaren on July 16, 1994 in Lexington, MO.
Mike had worked for the Union Pacific Railroad since 1979, working in many jobs, his last position had been as a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, DeEtta, of the home, his two sons, Brandon Taylor and wife Marilyn, Lexington and Phillip Taylor and wife Karla, Lees Summit and a daughter Katie McAlister, Roeland, Park Kansas. There are eight grandchildren. Additional survivors include his brother Mark McAlister and wife, Lynn and his nephew Benjamin McAlister. Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
