Mike was born May 20, 1958 in Richmond to Eugene and Linda (Crank) Appleby. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1976 and worked for Pat's Boats and Marine Service for 45 years. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, boats and spending time with his family and friends.
Mike is survived by his companion of 13 years, Brenda Dierking of Higginsville; daughter, Kaitlyn Appleby of Gladstone; brothers, Fred Alkire and wife Marti of Lexington, Kevin Appleby of Marshall and Tyler Alkire and wife Janna of Blue Springs; and sisters, Brenda Pettit of Lexington and Debbie Schreiter and husband Scott of Pierce, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Appleby; and sister Kim Appleby.
