Merrie Dean (Hulver) Stewart, 99, of Lexington, passed away July 30, 2021 in Lee's Summit surrounded by family. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 1:30 until 2:30 pm at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. A funeral service will also be on Wednesday at the funeral home at 2:30 pm. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lexington. Memories and condolences may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com. Merrie Dean was born September 29, 1921 in Lexington to Frank and Nadine (Proctor) Hulver. She was a graduate of Lexington High School. She was married to Bob Ellmaker until his death on October 27, 1960. She then married Jim Stewart on June 14, 1998. He preceded her in death December 12, 2018. Merrie Dean retired after more than 15 years from Lake City Ammunitions Plant. She was a member of the Maple Glen Community Club, the Lexington Tractor Club and the Presbyterian Disciples Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, ceramics and making dolls.

Survivors include, her daughter Linda Stabenow and husband Phil of Lee's Summit; daughter in law, Maxine Ellmaker of Gravois Mills;; grandchildren, Jason Stabenow and wife Stacey, Margot Vanfossan and Rob Ellmaker and wife Christy; great grandchildren, Sloane, Drew and Georgia Stabenow, Avery and Holden Vanfossan, and Madi and Parker Ellmaker; sister in law LaVonne Hulver of Lexington; nephew, Todd Hulver of Mayview; and stepchildren, Kay Ehlert, Diane Kintner and Dennis Stewart

Merrie Dean was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Bob and Jim; her son, Lee Ellmaker; sister, Betty Bertz and brother, Frank Hulver, Jr.
