MELLISSA D. HOWARD Mellissa D. Howard, 86 of Higginsville, MO passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at her sons home in Higginsville. Mellissa Della Hollingsworth was born on June 22, 1927 in Lexington, MO; to John Hubert and Maymie Olive Snell Hollingsworth. She married James Robert Howard March 1, 1945. Mellissa was a CNA and had worked at the Meyer Care Center, Higginsville for several years as well as other care centers. Per Mellissas wishes there will be no visitation or funeral services. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 1 pm at Lexington Memory Gardens. Survivors include her three sons, James Howard and wife Debra, Trinidad, CO; William (Bill) Howard and wife Lisa, Higginsville, Rick Howard and wife Sandra, Higginsville. There are 21 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren. Additional survivors include a brother Pete Hollingsworth, Jamesport, MO; and a sister, Mamie Howard, Lexington. Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her parents, her husband , two sons, John and Roy Howard, a brother, John Hollingsworth and a sister Rena Wampler.
