Gloria Jean (Jennings) Schroeder, 85, of Independence, Missouri formerly of Odessa, MO passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at the John Knox Village Care Center in Lees Summit, MO Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. www.ralphojones.com or on our Facebook page. Gloria was born on August 1, 1928 in Wellington, MO to Earl Edward and Effie Mae (Witte) Neece. She retired from Electro Dynamics as a Lead Lady. On September 29, 1943 she was united in marriage to Jesse L. Jennings until his death on July 23, 1987. After retirement they moved to Odessa. On October 2, 2004 Gloria married Gerald K. Schroeder in Kansas City, MO. Gerald survives of the home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Odessa, MO. She taught Sunday School, volunteered for the Youth for Christ Organization and Gloria was a Girl Scout Leader. She loved cooking, traveling with her daughters and spending time with friends and family. In addition to her husband, Gloria is survived by two daughters, Judy Taylor and husband Bill and Linda Collier and husband Louis, Sr. both of Lees Summit, MO; ten grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and first husband, Gloria was preceded in death by a brother in infancy, Clyde Neece and six sisters, Nelly Barker, Leona Durbin, Opal McGathy, Edith Copenhaver, Ethel Knight and Ada Rogers.
